Testimonials
I am most grateful to the friends, colleagues, and families who had the courage to ask for help.
"Ellen's skillful intervention assistance helped ALL of us in ways we never anticipated. We are a stronger and healthier family because of her. It was truly one of the best experiences our family could have had."
Former Client
"Ellen is my go-to for interventions. She remains poised and respectful throughout a very difficult and trying time while providing a firm grip on the entire process. I trust her completely."
Melinda Longtain, PhD
"Ellen was the calm we needed in a storm. My husband and I found Ellen very knowledgeable, calm and even funny. Her determined but friendly counsel helped us form a plan, and fully understand the process. The intervention itself was calm and having Ellen explain the plan and eventually drive her to treatment brought such calm to the situation that we shared family hugs upon her departure. Her continued support has been immensely helpful."

Healing Families Interventions Services
Intervention
Families reach out to me, usually in crisis, looking for assistance in helping a loved one agree to get help for addiction or mental health issues.
My role is to assess the situation, educate the family and friends about addiction and or mental illness, provide support through therapy or support group referrals, and help prepare them for a structured intervention.
Intervention is a process where we can interrupt the progression of the illness by lovingly helping the individual feel and experience the effects and consequences of their illness. Through education and support we help the individual see how the illness is pervading major areas of their life and offer recommendations for help to raise the potential for hope and recovery.
Sober Transport
I am available to accompany the prospective client to and from treatment, when appropriate.
Family Coaching
Sometimes families need time to understand their loved ones addiction or mental health issues. Education and support help families prepare for the changes they will have to make and the boundaries they will need to set prior to doing an Intervention. I provide four to six weeks of coaching to help ready families for an Intervention.
